This three-tiered centerpiece features pansies, violas and bacopa trailing over the sides of the pots.

If you're planning a garden party, how about a great centerpiece that's easy to make and takes only a few minutes.

For this project, you need three different sized pots--a larger one as the base and others to fit on top of each other. You also need a variety of different plants, such as violas and pansies and bacopa to spill over the sides of the pots. You also need a good potting soil.

First, fill the bottom pot about three-fourths full. Then start packing in the plants. Don't be afraid to pull apart your pansies, you can get six or more individual plants out of one cell pack. Line the outside of the bottom container first, leaving a few spaces in which to plant some of the trailing bacopa.

Next, fill up the middle container with soil and plant the violas. Place the viola container in the center of the pot of pansies.

For the final tier, plant a few more violas in the smallest pot, and you've got a triple treat of blooms.

Keep the plants well watered and feed them every week with a diluted water-soluble fertilizer. To keep it blooming, be sure to pinch off the spent blooms.
