How about an easy-to-grow flower garden that will produce beautiful blooms all summer long? Here's just the ticket, it's all in a packet. All you have to do is prepare the area that gets plenty of sunshine, get rid of the weeds, turn up the soil and then just toss and grow.
Marigolds, zinnias, dianthus, cosmos--all the seeds in these packets are annuals--perfect for a cutting garden. They offer spectacular blooms of color that will produce wonderful flower arrangements all summer long.
If you live in a short-growing-season climate, you might want to start these seeds indoors to get a jump start on the growing season. However, if you sow them right into the garden soil, they should do just fine, as long as you plant them after any threat of frost.
The first thing you want to do is arrange the packets according to the height of each variety, with the shorter types like marigolds and dianthus in front and the tallest, such as cosmos, in back, and the in-betweens like zinnias in the middle. Then you're ready to sow and go. The planting technique for all of these seeds is simple. No digging is required, just carefully sprinkle the seeds on top of the soil and then press them in with your feet. Then saturate the soil and repeat until the seeds finally germinate.
In no time, your garden will be a blooming success!
