A Welcoming Retreat

Ken Baker is a busy magazine and book author who would like to find a quiet little spot in his backyard to do some work and spend quality time with his best friend, Arthur, a beloved family pet he calls "the dog of the millennium." Baker envisions a place where he can work on his writing projects and relax when his schedule permits, but that spot is nothing more than a dirt patch that suffers from a lack of light. The area needs to be cleaned up and given a focal point for it to be useful and beautiful like the rest of the lawn.

Ken's wife, Brooke, hopes that host Susie Coelho and designer Van-Martin Rowe can transform this unused space in the otherwise beautiful yard into a haven for the entire family to enjoy.

After Susie and Van-Martin are done, the area is beautiful, welcoming and lush. New plants, a large-scale pergola and writing desk combine to inspire hours of creative writing.
