World Garden Tour
Bali, Australia and Mexico
Episode WGT-204
Bali's year-round tropical climate and rich volcanic soil make the whole island seem like one flowering garden. We visit the beautiful Temple of Ulun Danu on the shores of Lake Bratan. Along the harbor of Sydney, Australia, are beloved Chinese gardens. The gardens are built on traditional themes; basic principal of ying and yang, contrasting elements existing in harmony with each other such as quiet lakes contrasting against noisy waterfalls. In segment three, we find two different garden styles in one location. The Vargas Garden is a sculptural garden with lots of bold color and tropical plants surrounding the lawn and pool of a contemporary country home. Garden designer Josef Schrott goes through the wild exotic cactus garden and nursery known as Cacti Mundo.
